What we'll do:
Our Oakland Chef Bar experience is a 5 courses cocktail tasting experience featuring local distilleries and Asian spirits. There will be Street Food pairing featuring our rotating seasonal menu.
Our VIP guests will be seated @ our Oakland Restaurant with open Bar and Kitchen view. We’ll start with some snacks and aperitifs as myself and our mixologist introduce our guests to the local distilleries and their respective spirits.
As we craft each unique and off-menu cocktails, the guests will experience the smoke & mirrors of our craft while learning about the history and stories behind the local and select few distilleries.
We look forward to sharing our experience and host a wonderful time for our guests

Craft Cocktails ranging from classics to originals featuring Japanese spirits like Hibiki and Akashi.
You will be treated to a nice refreshing sparkling wine while we allow the fashionably late to arrive.
There are five (5) cocktails each progressively more spirited. Typically we feature Japanese gin, vodka, and whiskey; but we do trail off in tangents and roll into mezcals and tequilas.
And yes...we'll be blowing a lot of smoke.
Maldives, Haku vodka, lychee & pineapple syrup, Seedlip, sweet & sour, shaken/up.
Street Peddler, Mezcal, muddle Thai chili, ginger, lime, sweet & sour, shaken/strained.
IG Post, Roku gin, lime, maraschino liqueur, crème de violette, COLD smoke. Get your camera ready!
Tokyo Street Fashioned, Suntory Toki whiskey, yuzu liqueur, Angostura, orange bitter.
Cà Phê Martini, Mezcal, cane rhum, coconut, cà phê sua dá, shaken.
Our Craft Cocktails are paired with seasonal Asian Street Foods and "random" creations inspired from our travels or dreams (whichever comes first)
The menu for each event changes slightly or all together. It depends on our guests and their dietary restrictions and the season.
Fresh Kumiai Oysters, grapefruit granita, Champagne mignonette.
Bo La Lot, Angus chuck wrapped in betel leaves, grilled, served with a fermented anchovy sauce.
Banh Bot Loc, dumpling filled with braised pork belly, prawn. Fish sauce, pickles and fresh herbs.
Garlic Herbs Noodle, grilled chicken, Parmesan, Thai Basil.
Snow Cone, Vietnamese yogurt, Meyer lemon granita, carra carra, pear simple, coconut crumble
10/10 recommend spending an evening at Co Nam with Trung and his incredible team. You will be delighted by Trung's specially curated libations and perfectly paired menu. The atmosphere at Co Nam is warm, inviting and fun. I booked this experience for my team at work and everyone had a great time (there were many exclamationa of "this is SO good" and "I am blown away"! We will definitely make going to Co Nam a regular occurence! ☺️
The Chef Bar experience was wonderful! The food + cocktail pairings were made with a lot of thought and care, and were all delicious. The staff does a fine job of making you feel like family. At the bar, you can either sit in front of the bartender, the kitchen, or in-between. My girlfriend and I sat in front of the bartender, Sean, and were delightfully entertained as he crafted great cocktails and even better puns. We will definitely come back to Co Nam!
The food and drink experience with Trung and his lovely staff was amazing. He would give us background info on every drink prepared and spirits used. The best part was the food. Every food pairing was 100/10. I can't wait to come back and eat at his restaurant.
So fun! I gained a new appreciation for high-end mixology. Trung really gave us dedicated attention and passed on his passion for food and drinks. And it’s nice to pay a flat fee and not worry about each round of cocktails costing more money. Pretty good price for what you get.
